Artist Statement
Shifting and dividing, flickering in the face of immortality, the nuance of this series can be felt in the familiarity of the unconscious. Allowing light to become the subject of this series, Carly allows the viewer to become the subject of its reflection. In doing so, she invites the viewer to consider the contradictory nature of their own existence, the duplicity of the ego and higher self, and the entanglement of both experiencing and creating our experience of reality.
