Artist Statement
“I am he, as you are he, as you are me, and we are all together.” Inspired by the interconnectedness of mere being, Carly created this series as a commentary on the illusory divide attributed to physical realization. Alleviating the body of physical identity, a skeletal resemblance of each figure appears in its place. Envisioning a fundamental likeness of all beings, undivided by race, gender, or religion, a reduction of traditional elements provides the subjects a neutralized space to coexist.
